If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s appreciation for the little things that make daily tasks a whole lot easier. So here’s a list of our top 5 favourite beauty hacks – enjoy!

  1. Use Bobby pins with the wavy side down.
If you’re a girl with thick, or curly hair, you will be all too familiar with the Bobby pin. Wouldn’t it be great if these little metal clips that you find down the back of the sofa, in your bed, and in the bottom of your handbag, actually held your hair in place? Sliding the Bobby pin into your hair, with the wavy side towards your head will grip onto your hair, keeping your luscious locks in place all day long!
  2. Set your nail varnish with ice cold water.
Chipping your nail varnish after only a couple of days wear is annoying, but smudging your almost dry nail polish after investing a large amount your time and concentration making sure the polish stays on the nails and the nails only is even worse! What if we told you there’s a way to speed up the dreaded drying process? Soaking your nails in ice cold water straight after painting them will set the paint and encourage them to dry faster!
  3. Quick, easy contour!
Contouring doesn’t have to require hours of colour correction and clever highlighting. Grab a blush brush and work bronzer in a number 3 motion down the edges of the face, starting at the forehead, bringing it under the cheekbone and back along the jawline. Repeat this on both sides of your face. Quick, easy, and gives you an extra ten minutes in bed!
  4. Save money on perfume, with Vaseline!
Fed up of applying perfume, only to have to reapply just a few hours later? Pick up a cheap pot of Vaseline next time you’re out and apply this to pulse points before spraying perfume. The Vaseline is occlusive, which means the fragrance will last longer than it would on bare skin. This could save you a lot of money in the long run, particularly if you have expensive taste!
  5. Lips like Kylie Jenner, without the millionaire price tag.
If painful chemical lip plumpers don’t appeal to you, but you long for plump looking lips, this tip will help! Apply your lipstick as you would normally, then mix a small amount of your chosen lipstick with a touch of concealer, and apply to the centre of the lips, blending outwards. The subtle transition between the light and dark shades will create a 3D effect, which will give the impression of fuller, plumper lips.
