Our Flawless Mum of the Year: Kirstie Cowburn

For Mother’s Day this year, Flawless wanted to do something different – something that would recognise and celebrate hard working, deserving mums all over the nation. We wanted to give our loyal customers the opportunity to show appreciation to the leading lady in their life. The votes for Flawless Mum of the Year 2019 came in thick and fast, but in the end, there was one clear winner – the lovely Kirstie Cowburn, mum of three from Preston!

Kirstie was nominated by her 16-year-old son, Alex, who said, “She’s one of the best mums around. She works constantly to keep us running and is always there when times get tough. My mum really knows how to put a smile on your face and can make you laugh out loud for hours on end.”

Kirstie, who is a hairdresser and beauty therapist and runs her own salon in Preston, has previously entered national beauty contests and has even secured her place as a finalist for Pure & National Beauty 2019. Being the hair and beauty lover she is, we knew Kirstie would love being pampered here in our studios. We presented Kirstie with her sparkling award at our Leeds studio, where she enjoyed a full glam makeover and photoshoot with her devoted husband of 20 years, Ryan.

After a jam-packed day in our Leeds Studio Kirstie was pampered by our all Female Creative Team, and was treated to a makeover, enjoying makeup, hair, fashion and photo shooting, we had a chance to sit down for five minutes with a glass of bubbly and our Flawless Mum of the Year …

1. First of all, congratulations on being crowned Flawless Mum of the Year Kirstie – you definitely deserve it! It’s been a pleasure welcoming you to our studios. How did it feel to be crowned winner?

It was amazing. I felt surprised, emotional and so proud to be nominated. I’ve never won anything before, so it gave me a real boost to my confidence. I was apprehensive about what outfits to bring, but Ryan bought new outfits for me as a surprise.

2. Ryan certainly made a good choice – all your outfits were amazing, especially your checked dress. Have you enjoyed your time here at Flawless today?

Yes! Definitely! What an amazing experience. Today has made me feel really relaxed and all the Flawless team were so professional.

3. Which makeup look and hairstyle did you opt for?

For my hairstyle I chose voluminous curls. I was unsure which make-up look would suit me best, so my Make-Up Artist advised a smoky effect on my eyes – they looked amazing.

4. We’re so pleased you loved your makeup and hair, coming from the beauty queen yourself! Were you happy with the photos taken?

Yes definitely! The whole experience made me feel a million dollars, and myself and Ryan loved all the images so much that we purchased them all!

5. Amazing. What was your favourite part of the Flawless experience?

My favourite part was having photographs taken together with my husband. I normally focus all my time on my children, so it felt extra special to have time spent on me & Ryan,

6. We’re so glad you felt pampered and had time to sit back and relax. Would you visit us again?

Oh yes, definitely! I would absolutely recommend you to family and friends too.
