Highlighting and contouring can magically enhance your cheekbones, creating the illusion of a more prominent and flattering bone structure. Contouring can be used as part of your daily makeup routine, or saved for special occasions.

This month’s Makeup Recipe will cover all the items and techniques you need to achieve cheeks like Angelina Jolie!

You will need the following items:

– Liquid foundation in a shade that best matches your skin tone

– Liquid concealer or foundation in a slightly lighter color than your skin

– Concealer, foundation, or powder in a slightly darker color than your skin

– Setting powder

– Blush Tools

– A powder brush

– A foundation brush or sponge

– A concealer brush

Method

Step 1 –

First of all, be sure to cleanse and moisturise your face, before applying your foundation as you normally would. Applying your foundation with a brush or a sponge will help you to achieve a much more seamless look. Be sure to blend your foundation to the midway of your neck, this ensures there’s no colour difference between your face and your neck.

Step 2 –

Use the lighter shade of foundation and apply it to your t-zone. If you’re unsure where your t-zone is, it’s the area between your eyebrows, across your forehead and down to your chin. Apply a dab of the lighter colour under your eyes too, to hide any discolouration and to the tops of your cheekbones – this is key to achieve the desired look.

Step 3 –

Take your brush or sponge to blend the makeup in until there are no visible lines between the regular foundation and the lighter shade. Using a sponge may make a seamless look more achievable.

Step 4 –

Now the contour begins! Take your darker foundation or contour stick and apply to the sides of your nose, under your cheekbones and your hairline. Then, blend in the same way you did before, ensuring there are no lines or sudden areas of contrast.

Step 5 –

Add a dust of finishing powder with a fluffy brush to your t-zone to give your makeup the staying power we all dream of, and then finally, finish with a light dab of blush to the apples of your cheeks, moving up towards your temples.
