Flawless NHS Hero!

A few weeks ago, we held a competition for NHS staff to win a photoshoot & makeover.  We asked friends and family members of NHS workers to nominate who they thought deserved to be a winner! The prize included:

• VIP Makeover and Photoshoot for 2 people
• ALL DIGITAL IMAGES plus 2 wall art canvasses – worth £1800!!
• Complete with a glass of bubbly, MAC makeup and expert hair design
• A goody bag
• A trophy and certificate
• And the title of “Flawless NHS Hero!”

We received so many entries, with so many different reasons why they should win – as you can imagine, it felt impossible to choose!!!

Our Gold winner for the shoot was Rachel Latimer! Congratulations! Rachel came into our Leeds studio on August 3^rd and was nominated by her goddaughter, Kira Garrett. She visited our studio with her 2 daughters, Mia and Yasmin. Mia is 16 and will be going to study performing arts in Sixth form, in September. Yasmin is 12 and will be going into Year 8, in September.

Rachel left high school with the mentality that she wanted to be a nurse so started working in a care home while doing her NVQ’S level 1,2 and 3 but the manager said she would not get very far, calling her “Dumb”. After she did her NVQ’S Rachel decided to go to college to do nursing. She graduated and is now a ward manager. She works on a mixed ward for surgical procedures where she manages over 45 different staff. When we asked her what her favourite part of the job was, she responded, “I love that every day is different and that the day, although hard, is very rewarding; to see poorly patients feel better after treatment and care”

We can all agree, Rachel was a very deserving winner. She loved the whole experience, from having her hair and makeup done, to having a glass of bubbly. She said she loved the whole experience – especially spending some quality time with Mia and Yasmin.
